Geo-spatial Data and Services are now emerging as Core Foundation Requirement for Digital Transformation. Location specific dimension in workflow of governance process brings new value-addition for effective decision-making and delivery of services. Though traditionally Digital Public Infrastructure Platforms are not Geo By Design, but with emerging technologies capturing data (viz. IOT, Drone/UAV, New Generation Earth Observation Systems etc.), and spatial analytics using AI/ML (Geo-AI) are capable of integrating Geo-Spatial as part of the work-flow of end-to-end governance system. The lecture on “Geospatial Data & Services for Digital Transformation” is going to cover this perspective along with a few case studies as well as Policy Reforms unleashing Geo by Design Systems for Next-Generation Digital Transformation.
Worked as professional/scientists in Geo-Spatial Technology & Services Domain for more than 3 decades at NIC, out of which last 12 plus years as Deputy Director General and Head of the Project Divisions associated with GIS & RS, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Ministry of Power, MNRE, Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change, and also the National Disaster Management Information Systems Division and NIC-IPR Division.
